Fishing
In the municipality of Hagfors there are many lakes and streams where you can fish.
Several lakes are surrounded by forests and some are bordered by wetlands. Around some lakes there may be barbecue areas and boats for rent. This gives you the opportunity to try your luck in different environments. You can fish for perch, pike, zander, whitefish and noble fish in some of the waters included in the municipality.

Lunch of the day is served every day of the week from 11:00 to 15:30 and includes drinks, coffee, bread, salad buffet and dessert.
On the menu: traditional Swedish home cooking, Greek menu, à la carte, pasta, pizza, kebab and salads.
Takeaway is always an option.
In the evening you can, in addition to good food, enjoy a glass of wine or a beer and on some evenings we organize entertainment.

Monica Zetterlund Museum
Here you will meet the global artist Monica Zetterlund, both in image and music. The museum features stage wear from the music scene, variety shows, and a beautiful photo exhibition from Monica’s early years. All this accompanied by Monica’s pretty voice.
Hagfors Gustav Adolf Church
The church in Hagfors was built in 1904 and financed by the Uddeholmsbolaget.
In 1936, comprehensive renovations were carried out and the church was handed over to the Hagfors congregation of which Norra Råda was then a member.
In 1950, Hagfors became a town and formed its congregation.

The Best Hiking Routes in Hagfors
Explore the most popular running trails near Hagfors with handwritten trail maps and driving directions. Detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you are brought to you. There are several exercise loops that are perfect for running and walking. The longest trail is called “Three Peaks” and, as the name suggests, crosses three of the surrounding mountains. It is about 11 km long and passes through Norsberget, Lilla and Stora Ekesberget in that order.
Mana-Örbäcken: the closest nature reserve to Värmland
When you take your first steps in the Mana-Örbäcken Nature Reserve, you feel like you’ve been transported to another world, another time and another place. In the middle of the center of Hagfors, next to modern life, is an unspoiled oasis where time has stood still and nature has had to take care of itself for centuries. In the reserve, many trails lead you through exciting and unique nature. Walk next to the Örbäcken stream which is surrounded by ancient natural forests, discover the unique flora and fauna or climb the rocky Mana ridge, beautifully dressed in pine forests. You will discover many trees between 100 and 200 years old. Imagine, if they could talk?
Alpine skiing
Värmland is mesmerizing all year round and offers excellent winter sports activities.
The Långberget ski resort has slopes for beginners or expert skiers as well as a slalom slope with a ski lift. At Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter in North Värmland you will find Sweden’s first ski tunnel, a high-tech facility that even allows you to ski in summer as the indoor temperature is kept low throughout the year. If you prefer classic outdoor skiing, there are 63 km of varied slopes.
SWIMMING PLACES

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING – Lit six kilometers long tra
You can find groomed ski slopes in the town of Hagfors near the Ängfallheden ski stadium, north of the Linnerbergsvägen ski stadium near Vågbacken. In Råda, Sunnemo, Geijersholm or Mjönäs you can also slide on beautiful slopes. Ekesberget in Ekshärad has well-prepared cross-country ski trails – including a six kilometers long illuminated trail. But with its half-pipe and five slopes, Ekesberget also attracts those interested in downhill skiing and snowboarding.
BRATTFALLET AND HALGÅLEDEN
Brattfallet is a 10 meters high waterfall. In case of high-water flow, the fall is powerful. In summer, when the water flow is low, you can climb the falls. After Brattfallet, Halgån crosses a canyon. The area around Brattfallet is accessible. Here there are information panels, a rest area with a table-bench and an outdoor terrace.
The most beautiful cycling routes
The Klarälvsbanan is a 90-kilometer paved cycle path, cars are prohibited on this one. This trail runs along an old railway embankment and runs from Karlstad to Uddeholm. You pass through an open agricultural landscape to the south and the deep forest presents itself to the north. At the beginning/end of the Klarälvsbanan, to the north and south, the Klarälvsleden connects, which offers you further adventures in fantastic nature.
Leisure activities
At Fritidsbanken you can borrow leisure equipment free of charge. The Fritidsbanken has reopened its doors and is now located in the pretty station building, Järnvägsgatan 2! If you’re missing something special, Fritidsbanken contacts other Fritidsbanken in the area to fill what you are missing.
